Global PhD Fellow in Chemistry

Mohammed Jasil is a Global PhD Fellow in Chemistry at the Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS) at New York University (NYU) in Abu Dhabi. He joined the Materials NMR lab in 2024. His current research interests focus on the structural analysis of materials using advanced solid-state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) techniques, particularly regarding carbon dioxide adsorption materials.

Before joining NYU, he worked as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) in India. Jasil completed his Master's degree in Chemistry from GRI (Deemed to be University) in India. He has also worked at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in India, with the prestigious Summer Research Fellowship from the Indian Academy of Sciences.

In addition to his interest in chemical sciences, Jasil is passionate about inclusion and diversity studies. He has secured a prestigious Inclusion and Diversity grant from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) for the research proposal to study the inclusion of women in chemistry in Kerala, India.
