PM2.5 Project

We are excited to share the launch of a new atmospheric chemistry project at NYU Abu Dhabi, together with Prof. Francesco Paparella, focused on understanding PM2.5 particulate matter. PM2.5 particles are tiny airborne particles that can penetrate deep into the lungs and may have important implications for respiratory and cardiovascular health, in addition to their broader effects on air quality and climate. By studying their composition, sources, and behavior in the UAE environment, this project aims to generate important insights into regional atmospheric processes and contribute to broader efforts in environmental monitoring, public health, and sustainability. This initiative brings together expertise in atmospheric chemistry, environmental analysis, and advanced characterization to better understand the fine particulate matter present in our local atmosphere and its potential impact on both the environment and human health.
